WABWM: Down to the wire, doing the stress dance

10:04 AM

Have been working since 7:30 AM.

Am in full-blown “holy shit, I’m outta time” mode now.

What I needed to get done yesterday…

#4-Transfer corrections to e-pub versions.

#8-Set up the sales pages for my site, Amazon, B&N, Apple, and possibly Kobo (Kobo is not impressing me) (Dreamweaver, Fireworks, WordPress.

#12-Write the cool newsletter promo entries, teasers, and other spiffy stuff that should have been done months…or AT LEAST weeks…ago.

#14-Set up the HTCB Coupon for early-bird readers who buy from my site. (This is going to be ONLY for folks who are on the Cadence Drake list.)

What I GOT done yesterday.

#4-Transfer corrections to e-pub versions.

So I’m NOT going to have the weekend off. Everything that remains on the list has to be done by Monday, and some of it has to be done today.

Here’s what’s left:

  1. Set up the sales pages for my site, Amazon, B&N, Apple, and possibly Kobo (Kobo is not impressing me) (Dreamweaver, Fireworks, WordPress.
  2. Write the cool newsletter promo entries, teasers, and other spiffy stuff that should have been done months…or AT LEAST weeks…ago.
  3. Set up the two-day-only early-bird BEST discount. (This is going to be ONLY for folks who are on the Cadence Drake list.)
  4. Dur… Publish the books. (Not the thing you want to forget on your list.)
  5. Print out my stripped-down list of HTRYN Worksheets so I’ll be ready to go on the revision next week.

Good luck with your words.

I’m running crazy now, but will be much saner next week, while I’m doing the WARPAINT revision.

{snicker…snort… :roll:}

Finished reading HTCB, posted review on Amazon. You have four reviews already, a good start!

Woot! Just downloaded HTCB from Amazon and looking forward to sitting down with my iPad tomorrow. Congrats on getting your novels up and running, Holly!

Holly, I attempted to buy Cady from Amazon, but the price quoted for my region (I live in Slovenia) is 8.04$. ๐Ÿ™ This is something Amazon does all the time. I’m nearly certain it’s not you, the author, getting the difference, but that it instead goes to Amazon in what they call “market segmentation” which is presumably just a fancy way of saying that they fleece a segment of costumers about which they think they can get away with it.

I KNOW I can get it from your site – in fact, I’ve actually already bought it once, ages ago ๐Ÿ˜€ – but I would have loved to get it from Amazon, if for nothing else, so as to boost the numbers.

So frustrating. And nothing one can do about it, apart from not buying from Amazon, obviously. ๐Ÿ™

In other news, happy the first book is out, and can hardly wait for the second. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hey, Holly,
I’ve been checking several times a day on Amazon the last few days to see if HtCB is available yet, and it still says that it’s not yet available. Though it lists the price when I do a search, as soon as I go to the books page, it still says it is not available, I don’t want to miss the low price window, but it’s a lot easier for me to keep manage my Kindle when I purchase through Amazon, so I’m hoping to buy it there. (When I upgrade to a new Kindle I don’t have to go searching all over for book files; I can just download from Amazon again!) Is this just part of the process and it will be available on Amazon for 4.99 , or should I just go buy it on your site to get the low price?
    Thanks!
    Dana

Both the trade paperback and Kindle version are linked from this page:

Yup, that’s the one – I did click from the email.:) Price for me is 8.04$ – but I find that prices are different even for different European countries. Never mind; it’s just what it is; as long as I can buy through your site, I will not be hurt by it, and probably best not to lose any sleep over it.
        Thank you for caring! ๐Ÿ™‚
And, it’s interesting to note that clearly authors don’t know about this stratification (or whatever it’s called) pricing, isn’t it?

Couldn’t wait for HTCB to come out on Amazzon, so downloaded it from your shop and have read about 60% of it so far. The bad guys are freakin’ EVIL. Really, truly, pure monsters. It occurs to me that fans of the role-playing game Night’s Black Agents would like HTCB, as a science-fictional version of that game’s central idea (burned secret agents fighting against [SPOILER REDACTED]).

    Hey Holly!

I’m from Brazil, and I would like to know if you plan on sell Cady’s first book in some book store here. I know you don’t have any book translated to portuguese (except Glenraven) so I recently bought Talyn through an online brazilian book store called “Livraria Cultura” (Culture Bookstore in english). They have some of your books there, but I really wanted to read Hunting the Corrigan’s Blood, and since I’m not a big fan of reading on the computer, I would like to know where I can buy a printed copy here when you release the book.
I don’t know if your shop ships to outsite the U.S., so that’s a question too.
Anyway, sorry to bother you. I wish you good luck with all the releases coming up and all your crazy schedules due to it.
By the way, I’ve listened to “I didn’t expect that”, and it’s amazing! Your voice is splendid! Good work!
    xx

The only bookstores I can put the book in are online ones. What do you have available?

Go Go, i can’t wait to read HtCB! It’s one of your books i’ve read yet and i’m excited that you started to work again on that series! I always enjoy reading scifi books with strong female leads.

      ๐Ÿ˜€ Thank you.

Sales are going pretty well. Having them go well makes it a lot easier to keep writing the series.

    Good luck. ๐Ÿ™‚

BTW, I know it’s not part of this series but I started reading Memory of Fire the other day. Impressed so far. Just thought you’d like to know.

      Hi, Amy,

Thanks, both for the good wishes, and for reading one of my novels. I appreciate both.
