Time to Move On

I’ve had my vacation and then some.

So back to work. Now that the store is up and running, thanks to Margaret, I’m getting the rest of the support work done. The affiliate program is making money for folks, I’ve added an affiliate support board. I have to update the links on the site to reflect the presence of the store.

And today, along with working more on crits and WB workshops, I need to work out my writing plan for the next six months. (Last year was a good example of why I’m not going to be doing it for a full year.)

Gradually, everything is coming together.

A question:

I want to do the following Clinics — Plotting, Revise and Submit, Storyshowing, and Worldbuilding. Which would you most like to see next?

    Plotting!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Angela-Marina Jan 26, 2006 @ 14:41

Whoa…That is quite a lot of data to analyse…

  • MattScudder Jan 26, 2006 @ 10:17

I should note that my post was supposed to be the order of my preferences. ๐Ÿ™‚ Which means I want to see the Plotting Plinic most of all, with Revise & Submit a very close second.

    Laughing …

Well, I asked. Now, do I plot out a graph and do an Australian ballot, and tabulate weighted preferences?

Or do I just start into the damned things?

  • MattScudder Jan 25, 2006 @ 13:35

    My prefs:

    1. Plotting
    2. Revise & Submit
    3. Storyshowing
    4. Worldbuilding

  • PJ Jan 25, 2006 @ 10:22

    The short list:

    Worldbuilding
    Revise and Submit

I’m not sure what you mean by Storyshowing, either. Could you give us a brief explanation or example of what that would be?

I think this is a great idea! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Here’s my prefered order.

    Worldbuilding
    Plotting
    Storyshowing
    Revise and Submit

BTW. Is there any news on when/whether hard copies of the CCC will be available.

  • Carol Jan 24, 2006 @ 20:28

Yes, please, to all of them, but would love plotting and storyshowing to begin…

  • carlie Jan 24, 2006 @ 20:25

    OK, my order of preference:-

    Worldbuilding
    Storyshowing
    Revise and Submit
    Plotting

    In order of preference:

    Plotting
    Storyshowing
    Worldbuilding
    Revise and Submit

Worldbuilding or Storyshowing catch my votes.

  • sldavisca Jan 24, 2006 @ 17:50

All of them! In order of preference – storyshowing, worldbuilding, plotting, revise & submit.

  • PolarBear Jan 24, 2006 @ 16:29

I’m desperate for Revise and Submit followed by Plotting as a close second.

  • shay Jan 24, 2006 @ 16:00

    worldbuilding, definately ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Angela-Marina Jan 24, 2006 @ 15:38

    Plotting or worldbuilding, please.

As Miss Nienke said, I would be interested on a short mention on how to build an ordinary town or city.

  • joelysue Jan 24, 2006 @ 15:23

Worldbuilding, then Plotting and Revising for me!

  • arainsb123 Jan 24, 2006 @ 15:06

    Revise and submit.

  • Keziah Hill Jan 24, 2006 @ 15:05

    Plotting, plotting, plotting!

  • Miss Nienke Jan 24, 2006 @ 14:28

I don’t know what Storyshowing is either, but it sounds like it might be interesting. I’m very interested in plotting. Also, in Worldbuilding, do you cover non-fantasy/scifi worlds? I read in your Worldbuilding Workshop that you recommend Worldbuilding for all novels, even those that are set in your hometown. If you cover all types of worlds, I’m in.
Next on my list Revise & Submit.

Worldbuilding! Then Plotting, Storyshowing and finally Revise and Submit. It kind of makes sense to me to have things go in “order” if you know what I mean. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

  • jamijo Jan 24, 2006 @ 13:35

    Storyshowing. Definitely storyshowing!!

  • autumnstar Jan 24, 2006 @ 12:42

It’s a toss up between Plotting and Worldbuilding for me. Though, I’m not sure what ‘storyshowing’ is/means and it sounds interesting.

Wow, I guess that wasnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt much help! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Zoe Jan 24, 2006 @ 12:01

Well, I’d like to see all of them, but for now I’ll put in my vote for Storyshowing. And Plotting.

  • fionaphoenix Jan 24, 2006 @ 11:59

Worldbuilding, Plotting, Storyshowing, and Revise and Submit. (Since you asked. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • khazell1 Jan 24, 2006 @ 11:36

Storyshowing sounds neat and unique to the pool of writing how-to books. I’d love to see that.

  • slpenney Jan 24, 2006 @ 11:34

Are you going to let us know what your writing plan looks like? I’m curious.

  • slpenney Jan 24, 2006 @ 11:33

Revise and Submit gets my vote.

  • Jason Penney Jan 24, 2006 @ 11:26

I’m voting for “Revise and Submit”.

  • firelight Jan 24, 2006 @ 11:25

    What’s Storyshowing?
