Thought for the day

If the dryer sounds like you’ve turned it on with a corpse in it, either the cat sneaked into the laundry or you did too many pairs of blue jeans at once.

In my case, it was the jeans thing, but it still scared the bejeezus out of me.

(If the third option is that you really do have a corpse in your dryer, don’t even talk to me.)

Shhh. Your secret is safe with us, Keely.

  2. Gabriele Avatar

Katherine, in my case it was the Germans who did it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ummmm… Holly…. I think I’ll just go back over to MY blog. My visitors are so much more placid! Oops… that’s right PolarBear already ambled over there!!!

Excuse me while I hide the newest corpse in with the Halloween decorations. (No one has caught on yet!)

Authors don’t kill legions, Huns kill legions!

(Or at least that’s what my husband said.)

I find the drying process goes MUCH faster is you bleed the corpse first.

  6. Gabriele Avatar

Really? But everone should have some, they’re fun. Want a few of mine? I just killed three Roman legions.

    *whispers* Gabriele, I don’t have a corpse. */whispers*

    Jean, I don’t have a microwave. ๐Ÿ™‚

You knew that. You were just taunting us. We couldn’t help ourselves.

Gabriele, you need to have a good drip pan in the oven. Or a self-cleaning one. Otherwise, clean-up is a bear. Don’t dare try the microwave…well, maybe if you…no, just don’t go there with the microwave.

    Hey, you started it.

Very scary people read my weblog. ๐Ÿ˜‰

You mean, if done right, they’ll prove edible?

Now, that would take care of the storage problem.

Just between us, I always liked the oven better… all the gingerbready goodness, you know.

There’s a lot more to properly drying a corpse than meets the eye. For instance, once they are dry, they aren’t as pliable, so getting them out of the dryer is a little tricky.

Geez, you guys are killing me! ๐Ÿ™‚

(But please don’t stick me in the dryer just yet!)

Corpses in the dryer? Oh my G-d, that was ONE time.

I like to fold mine up and store them in a couple stacking storage bins, keeps them out of reach of the cat, and the plot bunnies (mine can be very playful).
Although it’s so hot here, I could probably dry them out on the deck (the plants sure dry out quickly).
    Have a great day, all.
P.S. if you put a bar of scented soap in the storage bin with them, it cuts down on the smell.

Don’t forget the Bounce! Or, Tide comes with Fabreze now.

Corpse in the dryer huh? Okay, that opens all sorts of possibilities…think I’ll go do some brainstorming now. Y’all have a fund day.

Works with plotbunnies, too. They get really big and fluffy and trilogy-y after a tour in the dryer.

How else am I supposed to dry my corpse. I tried hanging them on the clothes line a few times, but the neighbors complained to often.

It is, however, a wonderful way to fluff your cats.

  22. PolarBear Avatar

Good plan, Gabriele! I recommend the Very Dry Heavy cycle. Air fluff just wouldn’t cut it. But which shelf in the closet is best? I find a lower shelf is easier to load them, but when that fills up, well, I guess that means it’s time to send them to GoodWill or some other charitable organization.

I’m glad it wasn’t one of the cats, Holly. Sneakers will do that, too.

And there I thought it was a way to mummify them so they take up less space in the closet. Not to mention they won’t smell. ๐Ÿ™‚
