Today I sold Talyn, planned for 250,000 words, and A Book to Be Named Later (sports fans will get the concept), also planned at 250,000 words, to Tor for hard/soft publication. I am thrilled. I am walking on air. I am climbing the walls. My adrenal glands are hiring help for the holidays.

A couple of quick answers:
First, YES, and in a big way — this sale is absolutely related to my new agent, Robin Rue. I am beginning to suspect that Robin walks on water — she is also concerned about things like whether her writers can buy food, or use electricity to cook it.
Second, this wasn’t the book with the lesbian protag — that was supposed to have been Glenraven II, but Jim Baen refused that.
Third, if it’s an April Fool’s joke, then the joke is on me. But Robin told me we have the sale, so I’m taking that as gold.
Forth, I’ll put the first couple of chapters from the submission draft up on the Sneak Peeks board later today. And a couple of notes on that — you do have to be a community member to reach this board, the chapters are not in final format and are subject to all sorts of change, and therefore may not be quoted even for purposes of review, and if you want to share them with someone else, please just send him or her a link and instructions on how to reach the board. Don’t copy the chapters and e-mail them or anything. Thanks.
