Finished the novel yesterday. Today I’m working on the promo setup.
My editor is already halfway through the manuscript, and the markup looks pretty ferocious. Am doing my best not to peek.
My editor, incidentally, is my husband, Matt, who has been my first reader and most comprehensive editor since … either Glenraven, or Hunting the Corrigan’s Blood, or The Devil and Dan Cooley. I did all three of those books almost at the same time, anyway.
But while he’s doing editing Warpaint, the partial list of what I have to do includes:
Cover Art
WARPAINT Blurb
Song Recording
Music Video
Minecraft spaceships video
Minecraft spaceships download
PDF of the first chapters of HTCB and WARPAINT to include in the spaceships download
Blog stuff for the Cady Blog
Product pages on my site for both HTCB and WARPAINT (I am SO behind on site updates
There’s stuff I’m forgetting. I need to dig out my generic book pub list and see what else I have to get done.
But as much of that as possible has to be finished today.
Write with joy.
Looks like you have lots to keep you busy while your editor does his thing!
2109 words today. It’s okay to stop now– I’ve reached 60k for November so far–but I don’t want to!
Except that my body is telling me it’s time to slow down.
528 words – slow day, guess I just needed a bit of a break.
Holly – I can’t even imagine the emotions of having your book with the editor. Stay strong!
Peace,
Jen
I can’t wait to see the minecraft ships too- I hope you’ll keep them available because I’ve been avoiding the game (totally sucks me in and spits me out 4 hours later).
Today I got 745 new words but only halfway through a scene. I had a standard direction but I think something better is starting to shape up in my head. I’m going to sleep on it and pick it up tomorrow.
Happy writing everyone and Holly, good luck with the review. Hopefully Matt comes up with all kinds of cool insights for you.
Thank you so much for the minecraft ships. What fun I had going through them. Yes, I bought minecraft just so I could be ready to see your ships when you put them out there.
Thank you again. Write with love.
CONGRATS!
I started reading HTCB today by the way. I also realized that my chain of events in my Chapter 4 takes place entirely too long after Chapter 3… and this is the path I want to stick with. So no real pages added today, but I am up 100 words.
Once we pull in somewhere, I am getting minecraft. I am curious about the maps.
Yay! Looking forward to it. I’m loving Hunting the Corrigan’s Blood, by the way. Great book.
