Amazon hasn’t shipped my copy yet. And it’s still claiming a shipping estimate of August 2.
On a brighter note, LGD has finally shipped, although I’m not quite sure why they had to wait until Talyn was released to figure out that they were going to have to send my order in four shipments.
BAM on Eastern Blvd has one in stock. I faced it out and covered a slew of C.S. Lewis books next to you (sorry, C.S., Holly has priority for me). I also faced out one of the two copies of LGD and they had (yes, covering someone else up).
Haven’t been to the one by my house yet.
On a side note, Amazon FINALLY shipped my copy–they’re no longer my first choice for books. BAM will get first shot from now on. Good thing I’m no longer averse to leaving the house.
I got my pre ordered copy from Amazon today! Yeah! Guess what I’m doing all weekend?

Bob got the call on August 1st that my copy had arrived at Barnes & Noble. He was out of town and I had to work until 10 PM. I worked morning shift on Tuesday, though, so I picked it up after work!!!
I’m still waiting. I don’t think Amazon is planning to ship it until tomorrow. I also ordered Last Girl Dancing and Midnight Rain at the same time and am still waiting for them. Lately, when I buy anything from Amazon, I buy from the used sellers because then I might get it in a timely manner. Luckily, we have a large bookstore here where I live now, so I can just buy new books around here.
Amazon says I can order it now and get it by the 4th. I guess if I ordered it in February, that means I don’t care when I get it? Maybe I should reconsider buying from Amazon (I hear applause from several sectors). This shipping whenever they feel like it just because I have free shipping is for the birds. Things I don’t care about arrive nearly the next day. Things I can’t wait to get take forever. What I want to know is, how can they tell?

I just got the call (1:35 p.m. Pacific, August 2) that the book is in.
Guess what I’ll be doing on the way home this evening? GRIN

I got my copy from B&N in Chicago – Beautiful! Can’t wait to get started on it — they said they just received it — wasn’t even on the shelfs yet
Tallon is pretty workable. The hero of my first fantasy attempt was Draegan Dankmire. He was an information runner in the world that eventually became the main one in Hunting the Corrigan’s Blood. The world lived, but he vanished without trace or regret. I hate to think what would have happened if I’d tried to stick with ol’ Draegan.

I don’t get out, so no. But I did order it from the Strand bookstore! Funny enough, the only fantasy I ever tried to write (early 90’s) starred a hero named Tallon!

I called the B&N where my pre-ordered copy is supposed to go yesterday evening and they told me “a few days.” I suspect that’s rather like “the check’s in the mail,” but I’ll post again when they call to tell me it’s in.
I asked for it at my local B&N yesterday (Aug 1st). They said it wasn’t available yet, that the release was only listed as August, 2005 – no specific date.
Their computer also had an image of the old cover, but that probably doesn’t mean much.
