I had no idea what the cover was going to look like. Found it today on Amazon. Wow.

I like the cover. Great colors. It will sure help people flip to the back cover to see what it is about.

Is there a reason they don’t use the hardcover art or a variation of it?
The new cover is catchy.

Is it awful of me that I like the tattoo? But yes – the first thing I noticed was the braid, I am *so* disappointed it looks so… plain.
But Holly, it’s a beautiful cover nevertheless. Congratulations!

COR-ray is the correct pronunciation, actually. No apologies necessary, Rose.
-
Oh my. Here I’ve been pronouncing it “COR-ray”. Oops.
-
Sorry, typo. Im just used to typying core instead of Korre which sounds teh same, I have this sounding problem when Im quickly typing.

It’s an attractive cover, imo… and at least you’re in good company with covers that don’t match the facts. (Which is one of my pet peeves… I won’t tell you how long I spent the other day, puzzling over the cover of Diplomacy of Wolves. I’m sure that is Galweigh house in the cliff, but I can’t for the life of me make it match the description! I finally declared it a lost cause… I really wish publishers realized just how much that aggravates readers. Sigh. I’m sure the irritation is exponential for authors.)
Anyways, I finished DoW. Reading VoD now… and I find myself stalling, trying to make it last longer. There are twists I hadn’t managed to anticipate, which is novel in itself… and they’re damned good, too. Thank you.

Btw, it looks like Vincalis the Agitator is coming out in German in December.
-
It reminds me a bit of the Kushiel PB covers and that matches the blurb by Jacqueline Carey. ๐
It could be a lot worse, it could be a chick in chain mail. ๐ I think it’s a nice cover.

Between you, Tambo, and Tess G, the library will be seeing a lot of me this fall!… I only hope my required reading won’t be waylaid for the anticipated fiction. ๐
-
Let’s hope there IS one. ๐
-
Maybe they can fix it for the second print run. ๐

Adam—Korre is the name of the world.
-
Liz– And that is why authors usually receive cover flats or cover jpgs before the actual covers hit the stands. So screw-ups like that one can be fixed. I didn’t even see it, actually. I just noted that she didn’t have a nine-part braid or the right tattooes, illustrations of which I could have provided if asked.
And … thud, thud, thud … goes head on desk.

I dont really like it, compared to the Hardback it isnt fab. I loved the hardback version. However after saying that it fits in with the standard adult fantasy PBacks.
I dont get “the” core either.

Gorgeous! One question though: *the* Korre?
