Should Be Halfway Done by Now

Instead, I’m just getting started. I’m stressed, and pinging, and that does not make writing fun.

Anyway, I cleared out some deadwood this morning. Which means that I’m starting at 143,888 instead of 144,613. Bleh. I don’t feel like spreading the 725 extra words I lost over the remainder of the book — that feels like credit card debt to me. Terrifying, cumulative, and very hard to clear. So I’m just going to tack it onto my goal for today. Which will therefore be 3725 words or better — 147,613 or better.

I’ll roll over 150,000 words tomorrow, anyway. That’s a cheerful thought.
