Running Through Deep Mud

In heavy boots, too.

Jean and I started early, me with an opening count of 89,149. But I’m slogging, with 90,915 words after about three hours. That’s not the sort of pace to write home about. I’m getting good conflict, too, but having trouble getting it to fit in with my POV switches. And I don’t want to crash the rhythm of the book after 400+ pages of maintaining it.

I need to focus, but I’m also tired. Have done a LOT of words in the past couple of weeks, and I’m feeling it. At the moment, I’m having a hard time staying with my characters.

Don’t know what the solution is, but I’ll be happy to get my three thousand. Which will be when I hit 92,149. I’ve done 1234 words so far today.
