Reworking the outline

Spent the first several hours of today reworking my outline — pulling out redundant and slow scenes, scenes where people would spend more than half of their 2500-word allottment thinking (yawn) and other writing atrocities. I ended up ripping out eight planned scenes, which would have left the book significantly shorter than I wanted it to be. So then I had to add in new scenes to bring in back up to length — new, interesting, scary scenes.

Baanraak, the rrn dark god brought in as an assassin, now gets a few scenes from his point of view — and I’ll be writing the first of them tonight. Baanraak has some potential. I’m looking forward to this. I just wish it were earlier in the day.
