Have spent the morning shooting e-mails back and forth to Claire working out fixes for the last 59,000-ish words of LGD. Have decided to go with the scorched-earth approach, which is to throw out everything past the point where it stopped working for her, replot, and rewrite from scratch.
We brainstormed ideas, came up with some solid alternatives, and I’m back on solid footing with what needs to be done.
Tomorrow I’ll do the new line-for-scene. After that, probably a synopsis for her. We’ll go over that, I’ll make changes. Sooner or later, I’ll sit back down to write 59,000 or so new words.
