As I told a friend this morning, I’m reminding myself to get some perspective. I haven’t had to do CPR on anybody’s kid in a long time now, haven’t had anybody try to stab me, haven’t had anybody throw up on me or bleed on me, haven’t had to tell any families that we couldn’t save the someone they loved.
Woke up at three and couldn’t get back to sleep, so here I am. I feel kind of ratty, but, as Dire Straits said in “Money for Nothing,” …
Maybe get a blister on your little finger
Maybe get a blister on your thumb
In times of stress and uncertainty, you should always fall back on the classics.
So I’ll do that. Write. Get my words. Find out what happens next.
Stop whining.
