No Words Tonight

Just got back from the ER.

My brother-in-law had a seizure, and ended up back there again, and we were there all night waiting for news.

The story has an up-side this time.

A neurologist came to see him who has done the procedure he needs, who is willing to do the surgery for him, and who will work with the family and deal with the payment issues after the giant tumor is removed.

He’ll have surgery this Thursday.

I did not, however, do any writing tonight.

I hope all goes well with the surgery.

My brother-in-law isn’t quite so lucky (one of them; the other one is healthy). He recently had to undergo surgery too, he’s already lost a lung (doesn’t smoke, by the way)… Here’s hoping the surgery works well for your brother-in-law (or worked, as this entry is a fwe below the msot current).

Wow, Holly – your family has surely been through it … glad to hear there’s been some good news though.

I’ve just been working on basic editing of my first draft (punctuation, fixing areas that the speech recognition software screwed up, etc.).

After that, the heavy duty revisions begin.

Even though it’s stressful for you, it’s wonderful that you can help translate some of the scary stuff for your BIL and in-laws. Best to all of you, and I’ll be thinking of your BIL on Thursday.

Excellent news – I’m amazed and happy the surgery is so soon! I’ll be thinking of him Thursday.

Glad for the good news Holly!

I’m not writing anything these days, not even doing pre-writing, just plain old getting-by-trying-not-to-let-life-put-my-projects-on-hold-forever kinda thing. I’m not despairing though (thx to HTTS which helped me kill off VICTIM :-): there will come a time (soon I think) when I get back to writing…
I’m keeping up with Pocketful of words, and that is something… Good, reading about all you people making progress.

    Till later,

I am trudging along, doing my work, which is grading writing, pretty much. However, I wrote a new poem over the weekend, and that’s a good thing. I posted it on my Mysterious Night Vision Blog:
    http://nightvisionjournal.blogspot.com/2009/10/oregon-white-oak-agate.html

Also got news that two of my chapters from my novel-in-progress will appear on CentaurLit.com the month of November–that feels good!

    And today I am inspired, Holly-style, by this blog from Stephen Pressfield, with its pithy wisdom;
“There’s tremendous power is putting your ass where your heart wants to be.”

White light to you and yours Holly Maid!

859 words. Parts of two scenes.

The nervous court physican gives the King his inoculation. The King goes to put on his shirt and collapses. The physician pulls out his communicator and tells someone that it’s on. And from outside the door comes the sound of bullets and the screams of the King’s Guard.

The Princess’s manager tries to control her temper as she tries to talk the Princess out of the bathroom where she’s looking for places to shop instead of being outside giving a speech to dedicate a new hospital.

That’s really good news about your BIL, Holly! Let us know if there’s anything we can do.

What terrific news. However, it’s little bit scary when we’re all surprised by generosity among the medical community. All my best to you and yours and hoping that your brother-in-law makes a speedy recovery.

If money is needed I will contribute whatever my purse allows. You helped me when I needed it and I will help you. Just let me know.

    About my writing:
I’m currently planning my NaNo novel and not counting the words. At the same time, I visited the fringes of Frankfurt book fair and I am wrapping up my translation (did a last dash with more than 4400 words a few days back).

Glad to hear there is some good news on the health front! my thoughts and best wishes for your family during this trying time. With all the nightmare stories you hear about the uninsured, it’s nice to hear a story of a doctor that cares about the patient more than the payment.

got back to drafting and put down 2100 words in ch 18 in about 2 hours of writing. chapter hasn’t even got to the important points, but i’m pleased with my slight deviation and the words flowed in the hours before Castle came on. i got stuck at one point, but decided to hold off on one subplot and got right back into the flow. i’m hoping tonight goes the same and i can finish up this chapter, and move into chapter 19. I’ve been running this fight scene through my head for the past month, and i’ve been itching to write it for a few days.

Good thoughts for the surgery. I hope it goes well. It was a good thing that you didn’t go for words — all your energy was (and still is) with your BIL, where it should be.

Monday’s count was 516 on DG.

Best of luck to him – and to you, Holly. What a wonderful doctor!

As for me, 1819 and massive action going on. A sudden chase has split the MCs in two groups again: Cait is hoping to draw most of the suits, cops, and army away from James (who is trying to get Cait’s mother to the train station). So far, she has blown out the doors of the luxury hotel, jumped into the canal, broken through 6 sets of cement locks (setting off a massive flood), destroyed 2 cars, and avoided rubber bullets – all while carrying her friend and the box of fiance’s ashes on her back… but she may have met a rough spot jumping into the tear gas while surrounded. Having loads of power is one thing, having control over said power is another.

Meanwhile, James is in car chase #2 with mom white-knuckling the handlebar.

This was immense fun and is only the beginning of a 6-scene action sequence which leads into a 9-scene dramatic action sequence and I was dieing to write more but had to get some sleep so I could be awake enough to write today! Grr for mortal necessities like sleep, and day job… ;P
