I can barely believe this, and I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Tor is printing out galleys now for HAWKSPAR, and will be sending a few to me.

Without cutting the book in half and printing it as two books. Without me cutting 60,000 words from the text.

According to Robin, it’s to be printed in one volume and intact.

I can’t believe it. I’m jubilant.

I don’t have a release date yet. I’ll see if I can get one.

    Big books make me happy.

I read Talyn a few months ago, and it was definitely one of the better books I’d read in a while. I’m really looking forward to Hawkspar.

Well, I bought Talyn hardback and two paperback, so I hope that helps. (It’s a long story.)

My closest, I won’t quite say local, B&N still has Talyn on the shelves, along with a few of your other titles.

Night Echoes was in the New Romance section when I bought it and is on the shelve in the regular romance area now. I was in a hurry so I didn’t really look for your others.

Wonderful news, not only that we get the book in its full glory and as originally intended, but we also get the next installment of Holy goods that little bit quicker as you wont have to spend time reworking it.

PS. I just finished Talyn and loved it. Can’t wait for Hawkspar

Hawkspar not cut after all!! Fantastic news. (I really mourned those 60,000 words when you posted it was to be cut.)

So happy for myself a reader and congrats to you! Hope your feeling better soon.

Congratulations Holly! I felt so bad when I found out you had to cut it, especially after the trouble (read as “head-slamming-to-the-floor-in-frustration-moments”) you had while writing it. Congrats again!

I’ve read your blog for many years, but have never commented. I remember reading about how you’d have to cut Hawkspar and feeling just awful about it…60,000 words…

I am so very happy that you don’t have to! Hooray for Korre!

Holly, that’s fantastic! I’m so excited–I’ve been looking forward to reading Hawkspar ever since you posted a snippet of the very first chapter.

I have no info on Talyn sales. I can’t even venture a guess.

I am so happy to hear this! 🙂 You must be on Cloud 9!

Oh, to join on Shawna’s bandwagon, I thought I’d let you know that Talyn is still stocked at my local SF/F bookstore, too.

Hope you’re feeling better. I’m still recovering from a nasty bug myself.

  • LadyQ Apr 25, 2007 @ 10:36

*SO* happy to hear that. I hope this also means that Talyn sold really really really well in paperback.

  • Liz Apr 25, 2007 @ 10:17

Oh. My. God! “Squee” doesn’t even begin to cover it! 🙂

  • shawna Apr 25, 2007 @ 8:54

    Oh wow! Very cool news.

As a side note I meant to tell you about… remember those pics of Talyn in my local store that I showed you? They’re STILL keeping it stocked here.
