So here are the four choices I’ve so far come up with.
REMARKABLY SUCCESSFUL
A back-of-the-cover quote on my second novel, Bones of the Past, from publisher Jim Baen about my first novel, Fire in the Mist, which won the Compton Crook, sold well beyond anyone’s expectations, and stayed in print continuously for about ten years. I’ve always liked the combination of surprise and pleasure indicated in those two little words. The fact that anyone can make a living in this business for any length of time makes him or her remarkably successful.
EXUBERANT TENACITY
I make my living and support my family writing books. And only writing books. This is how I do it. ‘Nuff said.
DAMN LUCKY
What I think most mornings when I sit down to work.
POCKET FULL OF WORDS
A writerish sort of title. Kind of pretty.
Comments are welcome, votes will be considered but also non-binding. (Meaning when I figure out which one I like the best, I’m going to use that one, but comments and votes may help me figure out which one I like the best.
We’re Americans, dammit! It should be BUCKET full of words! 😉
I had come up with several ideas when you decided to toss BOunCE, but now that the choices are narrowed down, I like Pocket Full Of Words. It seems more inclusive of the things you put in your blog than any of the titles. Damn Lucky seems like an attempt at modesty. Exuberant Tenacity sounds like your approach to most things. Remarkably Successful, no matter how true, sounds a bit pretentious. Pocket Full Of Words says, “I’m a writer, damn it. I’ve got some things to say and I’m not going to run out any time soon.” My 2¢.
Trying out the title. This isn’t final — let me live with it for a day or two before you change any links.
I see I was too slow in getting to this today. But you picked the choice I like best–Pocketful of Words. It’s more descriptive of what the blog is about than the others, fwiw. 🙂
How about: “You can have this keyboard when you pry it from my cold dead hands”
Probably too long. =)
