My Experience With AIDS

Monica Jackson blogs on AIDS in the black community. Please read. AIDS is still spreading, AIDS and HIV are endemic in the younger population, the under-twenty-five age group is the most hard-hit … and AIDS is acquiring immunity to even the horrendously overpriced cocktail of drugs that has been used to treat it, and is likely to become more, rather than less, deadly as immune strains hit the general population.

But being white is not a guarantee that you’re safe. Being white and straight and female and monogamous and a non-drug user isn’t, either. I had my own up-close-and-personal with this disease, and in the nature sharing my experience so you might not have to experience what I did, here it is.
