Got 206 pages of the manuscript line-edited in hardcopy yesterday, rewrote the beginning (I like my results), sharpened dialogue, and added in depth for my two main secondary characters. Today, with 201 pages remaining, I face a more daunting task. This second half of the manuscript includes all of the first-draft material from the rewrite, and after a week of R&R, my brain has rested enough to recognize some trouble spots from memory. They may not be as much trouble as I anticipate, but my chances of line-editing the complete second half of the book in one day seem thin.
Since I’m not going to be at my computer, updates will be infrequent today.
