Today I have had the endless fun of reloading software, remembering passwords, and getting things to work. Yippee. This is not the way I like to spend my work time; unfortunately, in order to use the computer, first you gotta make it run.
Giant, lumpy, hairy pain in the ass.
It is, however, more fun to write on a computer than on a manual typewriter. Rather, it is more fun to make and correct mistakes on a computer. I still miss pounding the key and slamming the return bar at the end of each line. Lovely compositional rhythm, that. Actually cutting and pasting (well, I cut and taped) a first draft and then retyping the entire revised copy … that sucked.
Progress bites, but so does no progress.
