I’m back, I’m well, and I’m catching up. Tomorrow…research results.

This morning’s mail

The image in this post is a tiny slice of my taskbar, with my mail count in bright red on my mail app.

Lotta mail. I am dedicating today to catching up—doing the help desk stuff Dan couldn’t (because receipts come directly to me), finding the critical emails in my mailbox and deleting everything that can be deleted, and doing a couple of tasks to test this build of my new classroom software.

Tomorrow I’ll post my research, and let you know some cool, surprising things that happened while I was away.

I’m glad to be back. I’ve missed being here.

Thanks. But I’m only kinda-sorta back.

Next Tuesday, I have to have another biopsy, and while I’m learning to work through this crap to a certain extent, there are some things (anything that requires speaking, for example) that I simply cannot do while I’m healing up.

There’s joy when I give a vague instruction and my children work out how to do it and do it well. There’s joy when I do something wrong and my children correct me. There’s joy when I leave them with my parents for days and get a good report on their behavior.

I’m so glad you’re back! And really glad you are taking care of yourself. You’re health scare has inspired me to really take a look at my schedule as well. Cutting back on stressors (again) and looking for healthier paths. I’m very interested in what you’ve found in your research.

We’ve missed you! Glad you’re back and hope you are feeling well… despite the FEW emails you have to read. Good luck and don’t overdo. We’ll wait.

Thanks. I’m glad to be back. And surprised at the amazing effect a few small changes I’ve made are already having on the way I feel. 😀

They’re also easier to stick with and build on than overturning your entire life on your first day.

I’m adding little things gradually—first I had to get used to getting my ass out into the kitchen to make myself tea three times a day, when I’d never been a tea (or coffee) drinker.

That still isn’t an ingrained habit, but it will become one.

As each little change becomes a habit, I’ll add another small change.
