Great Devouring Christmas

The great holiday morass sucked me in whole. I got back to the revisions for the first time in days today, and it was tough. Really tough. I spent about an hour just getting back into the flow of the story before I even started writing. I still have a ways to go, and a lot of new material to write as well as a lot of old material that has to be sliced and diced worse than Frankenstein’s monster, and I am both pressured and struggling. The story is in there, but this is one of the tougher diamonds I’ve had to cut to bring out the full richness — I still love the Baanraak/Molly storyline, and I’m very excited about the Heyr/Lauren/Pete story. I just want this last portion of the book to come to me more easily, and it just isn’t. And this time of year, just finding the time to write is a challenge.

With that in mind, I’m getting back to work.
