Sliced and diced first two paragraphs down to two succinct sentences, am now slashing vigorously through the undergrowth of the rest of this. It’s bleeding, but in a good way; the dam broke when I fixed the first broken bits, and the entire proposal is shrinking steadily into a sharp, clean piece. Aim — have it down to ten pages and out the door by 10 AM.
