Friday

It’s been a loooooong week. I’m between naps right now, and not gonna write tonight or tomorrow night.

I’m cheering on your words though. Pretty sure at least one person is going to finish a story tonight. (Greg—D&D?)

Anyway.

How’s it going?

Sorry to disappoint Holly, just not quite there! Tying up loose ends can take a little longer than expected…reckon I’m about 1000 words away, so hopefully Wednesday at the latest.
Admittedly it’s not ‘feature-length’, but those two little words will feel pretty good anyway!

About 1500 words for me. A little short of the NaNo goal, but I had a busy day, and a buffer, so I am happy.

Something strange happened during those words though. A god I had created for no other reason than there needed to be one made an appearence. It was short, and unexpected, but I think it adds a lot for all of that. My character is going to have to come to terms with him, and now that she’s met him, she might actually do what I want =)

2220 on the Nano novel for Friday. Gotta love timers, although I find it curious that we allow ourselves to be driven by them. Should crack 50k by Sunday night.

Congratulations! I am almost there too but at my current rate, it may still be awhile. 🙂

I’m a little lost after finishing my NaNoWriMo novel.

I finished an 800 word children’s story for Highlights magazine, so I’m nothing but nerves waiting to see if it’s rejected.

I’ve got three ideas, none of which have endings. I don’t know how you write without an ending in mind — it’s never worked for me.

I think I got about 100 yesterday, on the busman’s holiday project. That’s better than I was hoping to get, but not as much as I would’ve liked.

And I got more background reading and some notes made for a potential future project, so the day wasn’t completely wasted.

I managed to get back to my writing before three months swamped with my work (the one that pays the bills), now things are getting more quiet and I work from home, so more free time.
My partner left for a work trip to Ecuador… so more free time…

I’M BACK WRITING FULL MODE UNTIL DEC 19TH!!!

Today I got 787 words and wrote some scene cards to develop later.

I really missed this rush. I’m committed to finish my first draft for Christmas and the revise it with Holly’s new course 😛

534 words on Friday the 20th. My “writing during chosen breaks in the office” strategy seems to be working quite fine, hope it lasts!

Interrogation goes on, and contradictions arise between what has happened and Erthel’s knowledge of the past. Did her mother always lie to her? Did she have anything to hide?

I just couldn’t make myself write today. Oh well, I’ll make it up tomorrow. Sometimes the words just don’t come. Plus, I’ll have my notebook beside my bed in case inspiration strikes…lets hope it does! Don’t want to fall behind during Nano.

800 words or so. Not that good, considering it’s NaNo, but it’s fine. I got a cool scene, too, setting up the most important encounter in the novel.

    1071 words.

The Bodyguard finishes getting processed and enters the domed mining colony grounds. He looks around for The Princess who is supposed to meet him and he doesn’t see her. So, he positions himself so he can see women leaving the women’s processing line and waits. And he fidgets. And he waits. And then he sees The Princess coming out… except she’s got a police escort. He follows them to the police station. After some more waiting and trying to figure out what to do, he decides to go in to see if he can find out what’s going on. The officer acting as a receptionist is kinda cute, so he starts hitting on her. And then a bunch of rebels stream in and take control of the station. The Bodyguard is forced to his knees at gunpoint. He tries to talk one of the soldiers into just letting him go because he’s not a cop or anything and he gets into a verbal exchange with the soldier. Which ends with the soldier calling The Bodyguard some names and pressing the barrel of his rifle against The Bodyguard’s head. The Bodyguard gets pissed and takes the guy out and rips his rifle away from him. Then when he sees a bunch of barrels pointing his way, he drops the rifle and realizes that he just royally screwed up.

This is unexpected fallout from the officer turning the Princess in. I have no idea where this is going but it can’t be good.

The next month is turning into hell-month at work. A project that should take about 6-8 months to do correctly has to be done by 12/15. I was actually scheduled to have been working on this project for the past 6 months but management kept taking me off of it and focusing me on other projects. So, I’m screwed. I was planning on taking all next week off and just write, write, write, but now I’m going to have to work. Bleh. (Although I am flying down to Houston to watch my Texans play live on MNF.)

I am really looking forward to the next scene for Talysmana! Sorry I’ve dissapeared for so long, I was in a small dryspell and I’m finally back on track. I’ve been writing plenty, but nothing for Blood Covenant except for small notes here and there until the past couple of days. Over three hundred words yesterday, and 597 words tonight. I am quite pleased… 🙂

110 which came in a small spurt on break at work. Evil Day Job completely drained me today so I’m looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow and celebrating my bday.
It helps that I’m sitting on a total of about 65K now. And I have a faint idea of where this scene will go – if I can just muster up the energy to stay awake to write it!

Happy birthday, Jessica! and congratulations on the great project count.

I can’t wait to get the next TalysMana scene!!!!

538 for me today. I’ve started a new rule – 500 words in the morning, no Internet allowed until it’s done. So far, so good.
