You’re right. It’s a stunning article. While I admire the nobility of the hospital staff in being impartial under impossible circumstances, I’m not completely comfortable sharing a species with the sort of idiot-monsters who would cheer at human suffering. What are we that we can contain so much of the angel and so much of the devil in one animal?
