It came in short — 84,000 words. But I woke up in the middle of the night realizing what I left out, and that will add an extra 6,000 words to the rewrite, easy. I’ll have to be careful not to let it add 12-15,000.
I like the ending, though the last line gave me conniptions and I’m still not satisfied with it. Maybe I’ll come up with something tighter on the revise before sending.
But. Done. The story is told. Now I have to print it off and start in on line-editing. It will be done by the 30th, though. And I’m very, very happy.
