It’s going to be a race–I have to have the revised RUBY KEY edits done by July 24th, and I estimate that I’ll need to add about 30,000-40,000 new words to the project to tell the story the way my editor and I have decided it needs to be told, while updating and reworking the existing 60,000 words.
That’s 14 days, including no days off. Between 2142 and 2857 new words a day, plus about 20 pages of existing material.
At this point, it’s doable, if very difficult. I dare not fall down, or it will become impossible. If I can do it, there’s good stuff at the other end, though–good enough to make it worth my while to give up most of my sleep and all of my free time for two weeks.
I’ll do updates as I can.
I can’t wait to read it.
Yay, longer book! Congrats and good luck!
*waving pompoms with Gabriele*
Good luck and have fun. See you in two weeks.
Good luck Holly, you’ll be right 🙂
Gabriele pretty much said was I was going to. 🙂
Holly Lisle vs. Time: Grudge Match.
I’m betting on the former. 😀
Knowing your tenacity when things get tough, I know you will do it.
I’ll be rooting for you, all the way.
Whooo hoooo! Making the book longer. I can’t wait. Good luck to you.
You can nail this one. Sending you good thoughts for things to fall into place.
Thanks, everyone.
And …
“And yay for being told to add words instead of having them cut out.”
Seriously.
*waving the pompons* 🙂
And yay for being told to add words instead of having them cut out.
Dang, dude. Good luck, Holly.
Hang in there! Sending tons of good thoughts your way…
(and have these thoughts of Alice in Wonderland going through my head… shrink this one, grow that one, etc.)
