I switched over to WordPress 2.01 this morning while I was on the phone with my son. (If it’s 4:30 am his time, he remembers to call.)
The site seems to be working correctly, although the RSS feed on the front page of the site is now carrying comments instead of articles. I’m going to have to troop through the code and see what’s up with that.
I did not finish any of what I wanted to get done yesterday. However, I did complete what I had to finish–those three deceptively simple questions in I See You. Yeah. My entire workday went down the drain on those puppies. But I got the thing in the mail in time, and it didn’t cost me a forty+ dollar overnight shipping fee, either.
Today, I’m going to have to sit down and figure out an honest-to-God work schedule. I’ve discovered that, much as I’d like to be, I’m not a winging-it kind of writer, and I’m into February already, with less done than I want.
That line from Romancing the Stone: “There are esschedules to be maintained … even in Columbia.” I like that line. It speaks to me.
One problem; your main RSS feed and your comments RSS feed both contain the same information, which is only comments :-). Makes it a leetle hard to keep up with the main posts in my RSS reader…
Yeah, this theme is good, I think. I like purple a lot better than orange, anyway.
Ooh, I like this one! 🙂
This layout’s a big change, but I’m getting used to it. It would be nice for you to condense the left navbar by making the text about the same size as that in the right one. Other than that, it looks great to me@
Now this one I really like Holly! Not that it matters. LOL
I like this look. I can read it easily. The fonts could be larger, but I have poor eyesight so I’m sure they’re fine for most folks.
Reloading your blog is giving me whiplash, Holly! Have you found a layout you like yet? 😉
This is a nice theme, IMO. But you could modify the css file and make the content background white (for greater contrast) and the font larger if you wanted.
Holly, I found a theme called ‘basic’ that is just a bare bones theme. Then I went and changed all the look of that to make it match the rest of my site. Perhaps you could do that? Let me see if I can find the link to it…
Here we go… http://www.visual-assault.org/wpTheme_basic/
Hope that is some help
I can’t speak for anyone else, but when you get your schedule worked out, I’d love to hear it.
This is none of my business, so disregard the request if it’s too nosy, but I remember reading that you’re homeschooling your kid.
I homeschool my seven year old, but am thinking about sending her to public school next year. I have a five and two year old, too, so life is pretty crazy, but mostly I just feel completely underqualified to teach her anything but the basics [Three R’s].
I’m a little worried about all the other subjects, so I’m curious about how other people do it. We’re on a really tight budget, so the big curricula are not really feasable.
Anyway, I understand if you don’t want to go into it, but thought I would throw the question out there.
Did, however, manage to break most of everything, apparently. I’d hoped that my old homemade theme would work with WordPress 2.01. No. It doesn’t.
So I’m back to this theme, which allows posting, until I design a new one.
I’ve gone over every pre-made WordPress 1.5 or greater theme on the Internet, incidentally, including all of the ones on Alex’s theme browser.
Argh. Just argh.
