Cancelling the September 15th How To Think Sideways Live Chat

I’ve had something come up that makes doing the final live chat next Tuesday impossible. I am cancelling it rather than rescheduling it for two reasons.

  • One, if I reschedule the chat rather than cancelling it and setting up a new chat, the bugs in the current 5-chat set-up will remain, and things like surveys, polls, and links will keep not working correctly.
    I’m pretty tired of that. If you’ve been attending them, I imagine you are, too. Cancelling and setting up a brand-new chat means we start with a clean, un-buggy slate.
     
  • Two, I’m not sure how long it’s going to take me to get the issues standing in the way of the chat cleared.
     

I’ve very sorry I have to do this, and I’ll set up the final HTTS Live Chat as quickly as I can.

    I had my phone trying to load the webinar while I was listening from the shower, so it wasn’t a big deal for me. After about 15 minutes, I figured it wasn’t happening. 🙂

    Oof, WebinarJam has really screwed the pooch on this one. I just got an e-mail directing me to the “replay video” (which, of course, doesn’t exist).

    I look forward to the chat, whenever it comes around–but in the meantime, I hope you’re taking care of yourself and not dealing with too much stress. We’ll be here whenever you’re ready; your talks are well worth waiting for.

      I’m very sorry you got the WebinarJam run-around. The new software is a lot simpler, but it’s also a lot easier to use.

    OMG. I just found this post. I can’t believe that I missed it. LOL I sat for an hour watching the spinning “waiting…” page and then couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t get to the replay (figuring that my computer messed up or something). 😀 Too funny. Oh well, I listened to a great audiobook while I was waiting, so no regrets! Looking forward to the new Live Chat. Thanks, Holly!

      I’m hoping to be able to do it soon. Scrambling on getting HLOWS.com live, and have to have another biopsy on my tongue the end of this month, so I’m going to have to schedule around that.

    Well, if you cancelled the chat today why did you send out an email asking everyone to click the link and attend? I’ve been waiting for 22 minutes now for the chat to start, assuming there were issues with the system.

    CANCEL YOUR AUTORESPONDER EMAILS WHEN YOU CANCEL YOUR CHAT! Very irresponsible NOT to do this and a huge time waster for those of us who don’t read your website regularly. I’m sure I’m not the only one that clicked the link today and wasted their time!

      I didn’t send the email. WebinarJam did, and I did not have the option to cancel the email. I cancelled the webinar to which the email was connected and assumed (wrongly) that would work.

      So there were issues with the system. Not the ones you thought, and not ones I knew about. But I apologize that you wasted your time.

    Not a problem, but the automated webinar system sent reminders the 14th and today, so I wouldn’t forget.

    I logged in and sat watching the page spin. as the page and I waited for you to log in. I’m surprised this post didn’t headline/come in like the seed launch and other topics are doing.

      I know, and that’s one of many reasons we’re not going to be using WebinarJam anymore. I’ve acquired new software, and I’ll be testing it first with the HLOWS.com Paper Tests to make sure I can use it. Once I’m sure it won’t be yet another rolling disaster, I’ll schedule the final HTTS Live Chat.

    Hi, Holly. I didn’t get the message, and that’s cool, but WebinarJam apparently still thinks it’s going to happen. They have a message when you login there that says they’re waiting for you to appear.

    Not a problem, Holly. If it’s a pain in the arse to put together something, nobody can enjoy it, especially the one putting it together. Do what you need to do. Then everyone can begin fresh, with no harm done.
