Breathing Easier

The hurricane has shifted far enough west that we now have a tropical storm warning rather than a hurricane warning. Odds are that the house will withstand a tropical storm.

We’re braced as best we can be — will probably lose power and water, but I can deal with that if we still have a place to live when this goes past.

Of course I feel like hell that my good fortune (such as it is and not counting any chickens before they’ve hatched and knocking on wood and any other disclaimer that might ward off ironic disaster) is somebody else’s nightmare.
