Born from Fire: Permafree release of Episode 1 of Tales from the Longview

When love is a crime, who will save the guilty?

That’s the question at the heart of the first story in my Tales from THE LONGVIEW series.

I’m releasing the story as permanently free. You can read the first chapter on the page, then download the complete story here.

I’ll be adding all the other places where you can get the story as they go live. But my readers get the free stuff first. ๐Ÿ˜€

Important note: This story was previously published as Enter the Death Circus — a title that turned out to be really bad.

I do like the new title better, but the story is still nice and complex.

      ๐Ÿ˜€ Thank you.

Because I’m now back to building the How to Write a Series class, I’m now FINALLY back to writing the stories that demonstrate the techniques.

Have you released more than chapter 1 of longview 3, the Philosopher Gambit? If so where can I find it? I love what you’ve created <3

I haven’t yet. It’s been sitting on my hard drive for about two years. I just released the second edition of Suzee Delight, and over the next couple of weeks I’ll plot out and write the first chapter of Episode 4: Vipers’ Nest, so that I can put that in the back of The Philosopher Gambit. That teaser chapter is the only thing the story is waiting on.

Maybe I’m just weird, but I *liked* “Enter the Death Circus”. I’da reached for that on the shelf just because it’s completely different!

I wish everyone did. I loved the title, but I have had a huge number of folks tell me they didn’t read “that sort of book” — only it wasn’t “that sort of book.”

If people who would like the story but aren’t because the title repels them, it’s time to change the title.

I loved the Title too ๐Ÿ™‚
But I do understand the reasons for the change.

Thanks. I’m mostly happy with it, but still fighting with sidebar menus and adding content.
