The time for writing a really hot, kinky sex scene, I have discovered, is not on the day when you have a fever, a headache, a stuffy nose, a sore throat, coughing, sneezing, itchy eyes and body aches.
Writing good sex is a lot like having it. Mood matters.
After hours of fighting to get this day’s words down on paper, I’m throwing my hands up in despair. Talyn is going to have to wait until tomorrow to get laid.
Poor Holly. Been there, done that. It royally sucks. (hugs) Take care of yourself! Hope you feel better soon!
Well, this made me snicker! Not because you’re feeling poorly, but because Talyn might have been looking forward to a night of ‘scruffing’ and you’ve denied her! How could you??? After such a long wait!!! I suppose anticipation will make the night better…
I know what you mean! One of the scenes from my last manuscript was written while I had a bad head cold. Next thing I knew, one of the viewpoint villains was also suffering from a head cold–the poor shmuck!
I agree. I can’t imagine writing about sex if I weren’t at least theoretically in the mood for it.
Of course, when I read this after it’s published, I’ll probably only be able to think about the flu now.
Hope you feel better soon!
It’s definitely NOT fun being sick, especially when there’s work to be done. 🙁
Hum… never gave it much thought, but I’ll bet you are right on target with that.
LOL – hope your mood improves quickly!
