At last! The tunnel light ISN’T a train! #WABWM

Business stuff this morning (the 15th is always like that).

Am starting words with a run-through of the 1250 brand new words I added yesterday. Those are sure to be buggy.

But I’m now on page 200, and I only have one more multi-page write-in, and that’s at the end of the book.

I’m now genuinely hopeful about my chances of completing type-in in over the weekend. ๐Ÿ˜€

Onward!

Holy crap. Almost a year ago, after 2 months of prep work, I started writing the first draft of a novel. Today, after 95,665 (660 today) words and an ending I never saw coming, I finished!!!!!!!

This has been, beyond doubt, the most fun project I’ve ever had the pleasure of working on. It was a roller-coaster ride that kept me sane when life fell apart, added extra spice when life was great, and helped me understand the world a little differently.

I can’t post the last line (spoilers), but here’s the second to last line:

“‘Excellent,’ said Parius. His eyes gleamed. ‘And I was just thinking that we need another adventure.’”

    This is amazing.

This is awesome! I’ll bet you’re walking on the clouds today. Enjoy the feeling! You’ve just done something most people only dream of-you’ve written a novel!
I’ll second those exclamation points. ๐Ÿ™‚
      !!!!!

No actual writing, but I’m up to 68 handwritten 7Aa and 7Ab worksheets for my HTRYN revision. I’m four sheets away from being done after months of work, looking forward to getting through the other 7’s and finally being done with this lesson ๐Ÿ™‚ HTRYN has been difficult for me, I’m finding some lessons take me an afternoon, others take me weeks or months. The self-pacing is a blessing.

4044 words today, in 1000 word bursts, some before work, some more after. I’m so close to winning this I can taste it. ๐Ÿ™‚
    Total words for November: 47382

Holly, I’m glad you finally made it through the write-in. It will be interesting to see how many words you ended up adding in the process!

Wow! So once you hit 50k for November will you go back to a normal writing schedule, or keep pushing on for 75k? ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Kirsten Avatar

Somewhere in between, I think. Since I’m not starting any other projects in November, I’m shooting for about 2k or so per writing day.
        I can’t promise I won’t get carried away once in a while though. ๐Ÿ˜‰

A few scribbled notes while working became 1 1/2 pages yesterday. +330 words.

@Jen of Hens & @Holly: Thank you for your motivating words. Sometimes, it’s the little things that help.
Maybe the light in the tunnel is the conductor with a spotlight trying to show you the exit. ๐Ÿ™‚

Way to go Ken! You’re right, it is the little things that help.

      Many happy words to you.

Well I’m pretty sure my light at the end of the tunnel IS a train. But nevermind, let me rush headlong into my fate. Another 2259 words for a Nano total of 33238. Feelin’ good about that.

    Now about those fries….

Hope you’ll post your weekend progress, Holly. I look forward to playing “peeping jen” on your progress.
