Found this on Gerri’s blog, answered honestly, and was surprised by the results —

what decade does your personality live in?

quiz brought to you by lady interference, ltd

Seems about right to me. The seventies were the decade in which I finished of elementary school, jr. high and high school, and grew up. While the sixties might have had the biggest influence on who I am inside, the seventies shaped the part of me that everyone sees. And this quiz was about externals.

It was, as quizzes go, pretty good.

Hum… I turned out to be a 50’s personality too… LOL I guess it’s true whe they say the first years are the formative ones. LOL

I really think this one missed it’s mark.

Hmm… I’m an eighties kid. I think it was because I started my journalism career then and had a fascination for world events. I grew up in the seventies, though, but had an isolated and strict upbringing, so maybe exploring the world at large when I left home isn’t so surprising.

Also surprised myself to find that I have a 50’s personality.

It might be growing up in a community that might be called Mayberry-ish in central KY in the ’60s and ’70s. Just behind the times.

OR…well, I often go back to the Harry Turtledove (writing under his old pseudonym of Eric G. Iverson) story in the mid-’80’s "spoof" issue of Analog. The story concerned a ’90’s SF writer who travelled back to the early ’50’s and started plagerizing ’70’s and ’80’s hard-problem-solving SF stories (and some non-fiction) in a single-handed effort to stem the tide of the resurgance of societal irrationality. (Consider, for example, the effect of Niven’s "Neutron Star" being published a decade before the discovery of pulsars.)

Perhaps that’s what I’m hearkening back to. Not that I’m not a fountain of irrational decisions myself….

I’m living in the fifties! Of course, I didn’t relate to any of the answers I could choose from on at least a third of the questions. It’s a fun quiz, though.
