The first part of this morning I’ve spent putting together answers to questions Claire had about the Onyx Proposal. She’s excited about the proposal, and we’re working out a few final kinks. So I’m still hopeful about this one. Oh. And she loved the alligator — always a good sign, since that was one of the things I loved most. I think we may be on the same track with this one.
Yesterday’s Hawkspar work went well, and the next thing I’ll be doing is working on that again.
But mostly I’m worried about my daughter and her family, who are in the middle of taking a direct hit from Francis right now. According to the track, we’ll get it later. But I can’t get through to her on the phone, and she and Frank live in one of the low-lying areas, as do Frank’s folks. Prayers and candles and good thoughts, as per your inclination, would be greatly appreciated right now.
I hope everyone is doing okay. I’m getting battered with severe storms here in Indiana, but I know it’s nothing like the hurricane. My thoughts go out to every one in Florida.
Have you heard from your family lately? Are they doing okay?

Glad to hear you heard from her! And I’m glad to see that Hawkspar is moving! Your post on the worry over it made me look at my own reasons for not finishing anything serious lately. I have not submitted a single novel this year. I hope to get past it now. Thanks for the little nudge.

Glad to see the Hawkspar bar moving finally! I’ve been in that same boat for several months now on my own book. Your honesty has forced me to do the same. Who said, “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself” wasn’t kidding. Lots of prayers and {{hugs}}.

My daughter’s okay so far. But yeah — here’s how stressed I am. I didn’t even get the name of the damned hurricane right. Katrina, not Francis. Just got a call from her, and maybe my brain will work now. They have everything boarded up, and she said they’re not being evacuated; apparently they’re on higher ground than I thought. They have food and water, and a shelter to go to if they have to. They’re watching the thing slowing and intensifying as it crawls toward them — the center is going to go right over them. Most of the family we have will be going through this one.

Florida is nice. No earthquakes, no wild fires, no blizzards, few tornadoes and the hurricains that come through usually give a lot of notice.
Since your son-in-law’s name is Frank, he clearly has good luck on his side already so I’m sure they’ll all be fine.
I hope Katrina bounces back into the Atlantaic instead of cutting across into the gulf and beating up on the panhandle. They’ve had enough in the last couple of years.

I am glad to hear that both the proposal and Hawkspar are going well. Was just reading online about Francis so I’ll say a prayer for your family in Florida. Why anyone would want to live there is beyond me!
