5 a.m. Words, and Birthdays

Got up at five, had to be done by eight, and I’d only had about four hours of badly interrupted sleep. But I got about a thousand good words, and I’m going to see if I can still get the rest before bed tonight. And we’re celebrating Becky’s twentieth birthday today … officially. She got her presents the other day, but not the cake or ice cream or silly song or candles. That’ll be tonight.

As for the actual writing, I had fun with Talyn in the scene I put her in — she’s having to urge a few close friends to go criminal with her and risk their lives to save their enemies. She isn’t sure she wants to and neither is anyone else, but the honor of the taak is at stake. Reluctant heroes all. Wish I’d had more time — it was a fun write.
