And a bit more. The revelation that came in the first section of the scene was a gift, pure and simple. The rest of the scene is fun — I enjoyed writing it and I’m happy with the way it turned out. But it isn’t every day that a felicitous turn of phrase and a bit of character developments offers the basis for a whole new novel. Gotta love that.
I’m done for the night. Tomorrow I hope to work on the proposal — it’s had a chance to cool a bit, so I should have an easier time spotting errors. And I’ll do my 2500 new words on The Wreck of Heaven.
Even though I started way too late, today was happy writing, on top of a happy day.
