Judi Lundy died last night at 11:15 pm. According to her son, she went peacefully and without pain. She was Fan GOH at Concave 26, from March 4-6 this year, and I had a picture of her from that, which I wanted to post here. I can’t find it. She was a wonderful, caring person, and those of us who … Continue reading →
The article is called Reality Check, by Jeff Edwards, retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer, and it discusses our current war casualites. Please take a look. … Continue reading →
I finally received my author’s copies of TALYN. I have several copies I’m sending out; not sure how many I’ll have left when I’m done, but we’ll do something fun with them. No word on Judi, either last night or this morning. And I’m still doing taxes.
Taxes. Feh. Today was taxes, tomorrow will be taxes, and Wednesday might be too. As for Judi, the news is not good. She’s getting worse. I don’t think there’s much hope left at this point.
Heard from Jim about Judi. She has written a living will. She’s still hospitalized, and currently on comfort measure only (which is bad); the situation is grim. At this point, sending prayers for energy and comfort, and for her to be able to keep down food seem to be the best bets. Please keep her in your thoughts.
Eeyugh. I’ll spent today and will be off for the next few days, wallowing in the thrill-a-minute fun that is income tax prep. Following that, I look forward to a leap forward into the several writing projects I have waiting. Unfortunately, there is no deadline quite so total as that which comes due to the IRS. So. Later.
Got the series worldbuilding and proposal out the door yesterday; I’m really happy with it. Won’t know anything until the middle of next week at the earliest, because my editor is going to be out of town, but she acknowledged receipt and told me she’d take a look as soon as she could. That’s good enough. I’m pulling the next … Continue reading →
If you’re a female or know one who’s very dear to you… pass this along. They really make sense! We can now add to the list of victims the retired 77-yr.-old TCU professor from Ft. Worth whose body was found last week in Oklahoma–and the 11-yr.-old in Sarasota, FL. Because of these recent abductions in daylight hours, refresh yourself of … Continue reading →
Therefore, I have decided that you need a laugh, too. Link requires Flash, but it is clean, funny, wonderful, and worth any download wait. … Continue reading →
I’m getting a lot done, and what I’m getting is good. I’m excited about the stories that are popping up from the worldbuilding, I’m fascinated by the characters I’m meeting, and the quirks of the world are drawing me in and forward. Here’s the thing, though. If I sell this world and these stories, I’m unlikely to write them under … Continue reading →
I was a complete podcast neophyte when I decided to put mine together, and I’m just now exploring the podcasts other people have done. I discovered Tim King, who does be the story. I’d listened to a few of his early episodes shortly after doing my first one, but didn’t realize until last night, when searching for something else entirely, … Continue reading →
My agent and I have been waiting for news on the new direction (which is actually an older direction I wanted to take, and a previous proposal from two years ago, resuscitated). There were two proposals from back then that might have been the one Claire wanted to see, and neither Robin nor I were sure which of the two … Continue reading →
New episode of Holly Lisle On Writing is up. The first real episode, actually. You can go to the website linked above, where you can get the links for the great music I’ve used as bumpers, and find out a bit more about the show. Or you can simply click the little player in the column to your left and … Continue reading →
So. Penguin. The EMT Proposal is toast. We’re discussing me going in an entirely different direction. I’m not posting details until we’ve sealed the deal, because there are some things about it that I might not be completely free to discuss. It isn’t what I’d planned on, but it does offer some interesting possibilities.
The news on Judi is not good. Her treatments were withheld because she was too weak for them, and she is listless and weakening. Please send your prayers and thoughts her way. … Continue reading →
Quick note: I’m reworking the site. Things might get a bit rubble-ous for a bit. Front page is in beta. What do you think? … Continue reading →
Holly Lisle On Writing So … This is my surprise. I have a crap microphone, but I’ll upgrade that fairly soon. Meanwhile, this is just the intro episode. Take a look, have a listen, see what you think. … Continue reading →
I haven’t fallen off the edge of the earth. I’m doing crits and worldbuilding workshops, and waiting out word from one editor on whether a project will fly (with a terrible case of nerves), and starting into the manuscript rewrites for the other editor . . . And working on a secret project that I’ll be unwrapping in the next … Continue reading →

I’m sending the cleaned-up, shrunken-down, revised version of HTCB to the three folks who ordered the first version before I could yank it down. For everyone else, Hunting the Corrigan’s Blood now ships at a lean and lovely 1.4 MB file size, is optimized for print for folks who want to save paper, and is also bookmarked for the daring … Continue reading →
The shop entry is sparse, but Hunting the Corrigan’s Blood is once again available. I’ll jazz it up later, but right now, I have a stack of errands. Back soon, more goodies to follow. … Continue reading →
I’m almost there. Almost. And after nine years, I’m so excited that Cadence and Badger will be in print again. Watch the progress bar. When it hits 100%, it means that Hunting the Corrigan’s Blood is live. There will be confetti. … Continue reading →
Got most of the rest of the edits on Hunting the Corrigan’s Blood done today. I should be able to have the book available in the next day or two. In other news, got the revision requests for Hawkspar from Anna. They’re significant. So I’ll be working my way through them over the next few weeks. I’ll print off a … Continue reading →
