Jean is giving away a copy of I SEE YOU.
I’m struggling with deadlines, a book that isn’t coming together the way I’d like, and my older son’s dying cat. Last few days have been rough.

Put the first chapter of I SEE YOU on the site, will get the second one up in the next week or so, and then the third a week or two after that.
I hope you enjoy.

Just got the news from Michelle Rowen that I See You got 4 1/2 stars and a Top Pick from Romantic Times.
Here’s a quote from the review: “Talk about putting readers on the edge of their seats! Lisle’s new thriller is a gut-wrenching combination of terror and romance, with a touch of the paranormal. The well-defined characters breathe life into this creepy, intense tale, making it truly unforgettable.”
Which reminds me–I need to get the first couple of chapters up. The book will be on shelves the first of July, and I’d sort of forgotten that.
Michelle’s new book, Angel With Attitude, will also be coming out in July, and got 4 stars. Her first, Bitten and Smitten, was funny and wonderful, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what she’s done next.

Time to drag out the endless saga of the Onyx Proposal, but this time for happy news. Claire just bought Shadow Music, one of the books I worked up in the series of about a dozen that I did for the Onyx Proposal. Shadow Music sold to a different Penguin line (Eclipse), with a release date in early 2008, and I’ll be doing it under my own name. If it goes well, we’ll follow up with others. It isn’t the SM Proposal, exactly, though, so the full SM Proposal, minus Shadow Music, will go back in the pile to be reworked and at some later date reused for something else. I don’t throw away worlds.

So. Penguin. The EMT Proposal is toast. We’re discussing me going in an entirely different direction. I’m not posting details until we’ve sealed the deal, because there are some things about it that I might not be completely free to discuss.
It isn’t what I’d planned on, but it does offer some interesting possibilities.

Heard from Robin yesterday that she liked the proposal, and had sent it straight on to Claire. This never happens, so I’m hoping the fact that it did this time is a sign (no, make that SIGN) of good things to come.
I’m still doing the HTCB manuscript slog. I’m reacquainting myself with the world at the same time, and envying the younger self who wrote that book. The tech and the set-up keep taking me by surprise; I had a lot more in there than I thought I did.
It’s clear to me that I’m going to miss the hell out of my worldbuilding notes for that book.
And that when I get back into Cady II, I’m going to have to take really, really good notes. ‘Cause, damn, it’s not fun having to scramble through older books for details on the way things work.

The proposal for a possible next suspense novel went out to my agent about ten seconds ago. Took longer than I thought possible to finish the revision, but on the up side, I like it a lot, and I’d love to write the book. It deals with a different level of relationships than the previous novels, maintains the light paranormal element, and has a nice mystery and a bit of bloodshed involved.
Now, on to the e-book version of Hunting the Corrigan’s Blood, so I don’t make myself crazy waiting to hear something.

2700 words, give or take a few. It has a good story; it is, I suspect, short on romance. I’ll go over it and see what I can do to beef up those elements.
Argh. Stuff you don’t notice while you’re doing the first draft.
Maybe I could do it as straight suspense …..
Hah.

I needed a guy car. I’m still doing the proposal, though I’m into the last few hundred words. I figured Mustang, but I thought maybe there was a better guy car out there. So I tossed the words “guy car” into search, and got this page. Guy and Chick Cars.
The number one guy car? Well, see for yourself.
