All Is Lost

in Writing Life

Things have gone from bad to worse to hopeless. My heroes fought their best, did their damnedest, gave everything in them.

And lost. Lost the horseshoe nail, and know that with it, they will lose everything. The battle, the war, their freedom, their people.

Got a nice bit of dialog at the end of that scene I thought I’d share.

"Then we’ve lost already and there is no need to hurry."

"Yet hurry still, as if we still had hope. Fight as if we still might win. And pray with all your heart I find a miracle."
