Hmmm.

Why do you hate Word, Holly?

Anyhow, I have been poking at the software. It seems like it has a lot of potential but I keep stumbling over the UI. Having to quit each time I want to change a font is very disheartening. But unfortunately I’m having trouble finding one that looks readable on my screen. The little icons next to each character name’s first appearance also seem… awkward somehow.

I’ve seen similar software before, although mostly for Macs. It’s nice to see strides being made in PC-dom for helping writers keep information organized– those pieces of software are a very different breed than the ones that claim to help you with ideas and pacing.

I played with it a bit last night, too… liked it amazingly well compared to all the others I’ve played with, too. Had a couple of things I wondered if it could do/ thought it would be nice if it did…. but that was midnight and I didn’t write them down, of course, so today, I don’t remember. Guess I’ll have to go play some more, hmm? (Especially if the customer service is that good… wow.)

This sounds like what I tried to do in Microsoft Access a few years ago — and pretty much gave up because it couldn’t do everything I wanted. (Not to mention that I threw myself into the 9 to 5 — or perhaps 0.9 – 50 would be a better descripton sometimes I’m definitely going to take a closer look since I want to get back into writing.

i tried the demo of WriteItNow and liked the layout of it and how it made everything look a bit more simple as opposed to random notes everywhere.
I think it’ll be put on my birthday wish list nice to have a second opinion as well though

That “reminding you someone is dead” feature sounds awfully helpful. I know that’s something I’ve forgotten in a story or two…
