Painting for Curse of the Black Heron — by Tom Kidd
The painting is stunning, I think. The only one of my solo works to be done by Tom Kidd, it has a “painterly” quality that I love. I admired the brushstrokes, Tom’s palette of colors, and the movement of the smoke and Isabetta’s sash. It is true to one of the scenes and evocative of the book itself.
I knew nothing about this one until the finished cover flats showed up in my mailbox.
