Upcoming Writing Project Poll Update
avatar

The polls are still open, but strong trends have emerged early, and our frontrunners….

Aagh. I can’t do it. I’m already so sick of polls and frontrunners I can’t see straight.

Thank you for voting on my upcoming for-writers projects, and thank you very much for your comments and e-mails. Both surveys are still open, and these results could change dramatically, but right now, this is where we stand. I have to say I would never have guessed your choices in a million years.

Which is why I asked. I’ve discovered that I’m a lousy mindreader. :D

Oh, yes. Today I’m editing THE SILVER DOOR. Expect me to be a wee bit scarce until that’s done.

First draft of THE SILVER DOOR is done! Done!

I love the ending, which came out totally different (and much better) than I’d planned. Donedonedonedone.

I am dancing.

Well, I was. Now I’m typing. When I finish typing, I’m going to dance some more.

Exquisite Morning

Went outside just minutes ago (to dump trash—how mundane). The air was crisp and cool and smelled sweet with the hint of damp earth and green things growing; the dawnlight on the horizon barely pinked. Roosters crowed, frogs cheeped, and one mockingbird sang with real vigor. In the cloudless sky, Venus and Mars (I think) sat low on my southeastern horizon. Breathing in was sheer pleasure.

Made moreso by the fact that I’m going to finish the book today.

Off to work, with my window open and the roosters still crowing my serenade.

Oh, Yeah

Got my 3000+ words on The Silver Door, and estimate that at this point I’m about five working days out from finishing the first draft. Which is right on schedule.

Writing flew today, the ship is cool, the Spire is getting scarier the more I learn about it, and I’m being deluged with ideas for the next installment of the story.

3420 Words

3420 words between 7:30 AM and 9 AM. Got going and couldn’t stop.

Oh, man. I cannot believe what happened. I finally got to witness the betrayal of humankind first hand. I sort of knew what had happened. Sort of. I hadn’t even begun to imagine the details.

The Trees! The Trees!

I’m in the midst of the vast battle being fought in a forest—doing a scene that is pouring out of my fingertips in what I can only describe as a waking nightmare. I’ve written more than 2000 words in the last hour, and am tearing through this thing barely able to slow down to reset the timer, and scaring the bejeezus out of myself.

I know where this scene is coming from…it’s coming from my personal adventures mowing the lawn. But… holy crapnoids.

Those of you who remember the keyu from Bones of the Past and Mind of the Magic… You ain’t seen nothing yet.
