And Done for the Day
avatar

Finished with 89,149. 3719 words for the day, which will certainly work.

Tomorrow Jean and I are going to run again. I’ll be doing HAWKSPAR all morning. In the afternoon, I’ll start in reading the proofs of TALYN. Doing these two books in tandem should be helpful, actually, since the worldbuilding for one ties in to the worldbuilding for the other. I can stand to brush up on some areas of Tonk-ness.

And Done with LGD

Edits typed in and saved on LAST GIRL DANCING. After I print it, I’ll tag the major changes and ship the hardcopy off to Claire, she’ll vett the changes, and I’ll do a final line by line correction okay in Word, and e-mail her the clean file.

Biggest part is now done, though.

With time left to work on HAWKSPAR again.

Three Thousand Down
avatar

Running with Jean continues to be one of those phenomenal word-inspiring processes. Have my first three thousand words done. Finished this set at 88,580, while my MC is exploring the ethics of war while stuck in the middle of one.

I’m moving on to LGD now, and going to finish the edit on that. If I have time left over, I’ll go back to HAWKSPAR and get some more words.

Overall, today is going beautifully.

Saturday Running with Jean

So Jean showed up early, and I was there on time. We chatted, but are now set up to run. My goals for the day, fairly large. 3000 words minimum on HAWKSPAR, 6000 words max if I can get them, because of those words I lost earlier in the week. Depending on what time it is when I pass 3000, I’ll either keep working on HAWKSPAR, or switch over to LGD and finish the revision on that.

Either way, I wrap LGD today.

Onward!

START: 85430 — FINISH: 88430 or better.

The Dreaded Wall of Weariness

Started HAWKSPAR with 81,862. Wiped out at 82,370. 508 breathtaking words. Zowie. <yes, that is sarcasm dripping>

But, with my other words for the day (the LGD ones), I’ve managed 5303. Which is not the best day I’ve ever had, but does denote a solid effort by the home team.

Rah, team.

So much for the 11,000-word superday. I’m going to go soak my head or something for a while.

Hmmmm

At 4795, I ran out of new outline. That is, I caught up to myself. Cut out the old pages, plugged in the new pages, everything clicks, and the book is still the right length. So I’m not going to need 6000 words after all. And I’m past the point I’ve been dreading since I got these revision requests back. Damn, that was anticlimactic.

My stunning day is looking less and less breathtaking all the time. Setting up to do HAWKSPAR words now.
