Bad news can be good news #wabwm

I discovered yesterday that my carefully put-together outline for Create A World Clinic was utter crap. It was boring, sluggish, loaded down with a whole bunch of lard before you ever got to the good stuff.

And the sections I’d finished were crap, too.

So I knew when I went to bed last night that everything I have on Create A World Clinic was going out the window. And I didn’t sleep at all. Finally managed to drop out of consciousness around 3:30-ish this morning, woke up after eight AM feeling like I’d been playing touch football with eighteen-wheelers.

BUT…

I know how the course starts right now. So today, I’m going to write a kick-ass first section to the course, and then I’m going to outline the rest.

No words yesterday. There will, by damn, be words today. ๐Ÿ˜€

Love when that happens. Hate it, Hate It, HATE IT, but in the end, love it.

273 words – character back story.

635 words today, and some work on planning during which I realized that I’m dealing with a novella, which in turn makes my daily wordcount expectations somewhat lower.

700 words today, during editing. Adding a missing character (carefully now), and micro-editing. Total: 69,600 words.
Good on you for taking the bad news in stride!

No new words, but three short story submissions. And the pieces that are stuck in the novel are working their way through my subconscious. The key? “And then things get worse!” ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’d made it too easy for my protagonist again.
    Write on,

From time to time, I like the line from Galaxy Quest as a reminder to keep the danger level high:

      “…And it exploded.”

Actually used, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.” in my NANOvel when they drive into a snow storm and it looks like hyperspace! ๐Ÿ˜‰
