COMMISSION INCREASE
======================
I’m still working my way through my affiliate management course, and I’ve discovered that, for my sort of business, I should be offering 50% commissions to you. So, effective immediately, you’ll be getting 50% of everything you sell. (Remember, commissions come after PayPal fees, which hit before either of us get paid).
======================
BONUSES
======================
The 5% bonus for ten sales deal for this month, and the 10% bonus for twenty sales this month are still in effect.
======================
SPECIAL DEAL
======================
Remember, the HOW TO BEAT WRITER’S BLOCK PROGRAM will be debuting on the 19th. By then, I’ll have a special link for you that will go to an affiliates-only landing page that will allow your customers to get the program plus all four of my writing clinics for a special price, and that price will be good for only one week– the 19th through the 25th of this month.
Remember, the WRITER’S BLOCK course will debut at $59.95, which is in itself a markdown of the final price, which will be $69.95. The price will go up after the debut period, which will run until sometime in January. The clinics are 9.95 each. The total for the package if your customers bought everything through the store instead of through you would be 99.75. You’ll be able to offer them the whole thing for 79.95, which is just a hair better than 20% off.
If they buy the package, you’ll get about almost $39 per sale. If they buy the single program, you’ll get about $29 per sale. I may throw in other stuff, too, to increase the value of the deal.
I’ll have an entire thirty-day marketing plan set up for you with specials and specific advertising for the whole debut month.

YOUR MAILING LIST
======================
If you don’t already have a double-opt-in mailing list—this is one where members add their name and email address from the sign-up form (or you invite them from the mailing list software), and then they confirm by clicking a link from their e-mail box that they want to be on your list, start building one now. The only way you can send e-mail marketing is to have a double-opt-in list.
IMPORTANT: If you just e-mail your friends with my e-mail marketing, that’s spam. If you post ads to newsgroups that do not permit advertising, that’s spam. If you you post ads to your favorite bulletin board communities in anyplace but a forum they have specifically set aside for advertising, that’s spam. And if you spam, I have to kick you out.
I don’t want to kick you out. I want you to make a lot of money.
Back to the double-opt-in mailing list. There are free ones, there are paid ones. If you have your own web site with access to your server, you can install the free MailMan, http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/index.html , the program I’m currently using for my mailing list. It doesn’t have a lot of options, but it is double-opt-in. (Keep the sign-up record you receive of every person who signs up. If you are accused of spamming, you have to be able to produce the record of the person who has accused you to prove that they signed up for your list AND confirmed that they wanted to be there).
Groupmail offers a free version of their product for Windows users: http://www.group-mail.com
A lot of web hosts have some form of newsletter software already set up and available to you. Check into that.
And if you’re advertising from your weblog on a hosted server, you’re still not out in the cold. Here’s an entire list of options for you, including Yahoo lists and Google lists: http://www.thefreecountry.com/webmaster/mailinglists.shtml
Don’t create your list just to advertise to people, though. Create it to talk to them, to offer information that they want, to have some fun. After years of not doing a mailing list, I’ve just started mine up again, and I’m talking about writing and having a wonderful time. The advertising is a side benefit.
Find a program you can use, think about what you have to talk about, and start inviting your friends, your family, your customers, the people you know from work, and anyone else you think might be interested, to join. Make your list worth their time. Make it fun to be there. Start on that today—you’ll want to have folks you can talk to by the 19th, and building a list takes time.
If you have questions or need help, just ask. I’ll do whatever I can to help you get going on this.
That’s it for today.
Talk to you soon,
Holly
